Paper Faces
South Koreans showed up at polling stations across South Korea to vote in a new president on 9 March 2022.
Yoon Suk-yeol from the conservative People Power Party narrowly won, defeating Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party, in what is considered the closest presidential election in the country’s history.
Amidst the campaigning, rallies and debates, election posters were also seen across Seoul, some in plain view, others hidden in side alleys. This photo series depicts a selection of election posters in nine different areas around the city on election day.
